PROJECT OVERVIEW
An Air Release Valve (ARV) allows air that is trapped inside of pressurized pipe to escape from the pipe allowing the pipe to flow at full capacity. The project consisted of replacing 3 ARVs and rehabilitating 3 different ARVs along the forcemain to one of the city’s two master stations. These ARVs were showing signs of deterioration and were in need of attention. Repairs ranged from replacement of stainless steel tee air release valve to full replacement of the vault, piping, and all equipment, and re-connection to existing forcemain piping with stainless steel couplings.
