PROJECT OVERVIEW
This storm sewer project is located in the northwest corner of the City of Grand Forks. It is in a subdivision that serves light commercial industries.
When installing a new collection system in an established subdivision, the existing infrastructure must be considered during the design and construction of the location and depth of the gravity pipes. This system had to be designed around existing water, gravity sanitary sewer, and sanitary forcemain. When the system was being installed, adjustments had to be made to accommodate various existing utilities.
The project provided modern, dependable storm drainage to the local businesses and residents. It consisted of installing 38 storm sewer manholes, catch basins, and area drains, a pump station structure and control building, a stormwater pond, cutting over a mile of drainage ditch, and installing over 6,900 feet of storm sewer piping.
